This handmade Para bench is made from beautiful Sapele hardwood combined with sleek mild steel legs. The timber was reclaimed locally and sawn to size in our workshop. My design process seeks to highlight a minimalist/sculptural relationship between wood and steel. In this instance there is an unnatural balance between the size of the timber in comparison to the somewhat delicate nature of the steel legs. The Sapele is treated with Osmo exterior varnish and the steel is treated with Tikkurila Temadur matt varnish for prolonged durability and can be situated indoor or outdoor
